Poem

I am a benevolent and brave lion.
I wonder where my sweet honey is.
I hear the moon's whinning like a baby.
I see the moon as bright as the noonday sun.
I want to soothe a crying baby.
I am a benevolent and brave lion.

I pretend to be as sweet as honey.
I feel that she is as lonely as a leaf in the fall.
I touch a leaf as soft as silk.
I worry about the falling leaf.
I cry while praying for the moon.
I am benevolent and brave lion.

I understand that each person has the perfect mate.
I say I know it is you.
I dream of flying to the moon.
I try to reach out and hold your hand.
I hope we are going to be Rabbits in the moon.
I am a benevolent and brave lion.

  1. Hi Richard,

Good writing. I really like your poem. Especially "I see the moon as bright as the noonday sun" and "I hope we are going to be Rabbits in the moon" these two sentences. Your poem is so romantic but I can't not imagine you are a dinosaur. you are gentle man.

  2. Hi Richard,
I think your poem is really interesting and romantic. It has a really good connection between three parts of your poem. I wonder why you mention moon rather than sun or other planets? Maybe you could write " I hope we can make friends with Rabbits in the moon." It is because I want to make friends with them. You really do a good job! EJ
